Lactobacilli is the family of friendly bacteria (flora) which are often depleted due to modern living and poor diet. Microfood is a live active, non-dairy source of lactobacilli (acidophilus and other friendly bacteria) useful for replacing and enhancing the friendly floral colony. Cultured on an organic medium including organic barley and green barley powder, this is a highly stable product which can be activated by fermenting with fructose or sugar and warm water for bread making, etc. Microfood may be used as an effective facial scrub when moistened with water. Microfood is also great for replacing good bacteria after antibiotic therapy. A rich and complete source of vitamin B complex, containing an effective component of vitamin B12.
No preservatives, additives, or yeast.

More Information
Microfood Lactobacillus Complex
In the modern stressful world our bodies need plenty of the B-group vitamins. Microfood is a rich source of B vitamins, as well as being an excellent source of the beneficial bowel flora. Microfood is especially valuable for people who wish to re-colonise the bowel with friendly flora. Healthy bowel function, and our overall health, is dependent upon maintaining correct bowel flora balance. Antibiotics and other medications, and the stress of modern living can jeopardize healthy flora concentrations in the bowel. Microfood helps to redress the imbalance of the flora within the bowel.
Microfood does not require refrigeration until the seal is broken. Other lactobacilli products, such as some acidophilus products from health food stores do not need to be continually kept at low temperature.
SAFE’s Microfood is cultured on
green barley powder, mung beans and
grains that provide a food source for the lactobacillus. Other companies separate the lactobacilli from the medium on which they are cultured. Refrigerating their products keeps the lactobacilli at low temperatures and prevents the lactobacilli from being active. If the product is not kept refrigerated, the lactobacilli becomes active but as it has no food source available it dies. As Microfood has the food source present, it does not need to be refrigerated.
Another point of difference with lactobacilli products is the type of lactobacilli in the product. Some have acidophilus, some acidophilus and bifidus. Microfood has acidophilus, bifidus and eight other friendly flora.
Fermentation of the Microfood Lactobacillus will dramatically increase the number of microorganisms available to you. To achieve this, place one dessertspoon of Microfood and one dessert spoon of fructose or sugar (no sugar will remain in the finished product) in a Vacuum flask or bottle half-filled with 500ml of warm filtered water. It is helpful to shake the container every few hours for the first day or so. The Microfood will activate in about 36 hours, and when the liquid tastes rather like lemon juice (around pH 3) is it is ready to drink. Each 20ml of liquid can contain around 2 billion microorganisms. This is an ideal way to get the most out of your Microfood and achieve peak health for your digestive system at the same time.
